Local-first storage
TallySeal is designed to store app data locally on your device by default. This helps keep the app usable even when you are offline.
Local records may include expense entries, receipt-related information, categories, notes, review status, profile details, business details, export preferences, cached paid feature status, and app preferences.
What offline-first means
Offline-first means core recordkeeping features are designed to work without constant internet access.
Offline-first does not mean every feature works without internet. Waitlist submission, support, app updates, crash reporting, purchase activation, purchase restoration, optional backups, optional sync, or future online services may require internet access.
Expense records and profile data
Expense records may include vendor, date, amount, category, proof type, receipt status, notes, business purpose, review status, and related recordkeeping fields.
Profile or business details may include user-provided information used to organize records or prepare exports, such as name, business name, address fields, GST/HST-related fields, and other details entered by the user.
T2125-style exports
TallySeal may export available app data into structured summaries or fillable T2125-style preparation files.
Exports may use the selected tax year, expense records, supported categories, user-provided profile fields, business details, and other available app data.
Exports are designed for review, checking, correction, completion, accountant handoff, or tax-preparation workflows. They are not a substitute for professional tax, accounting, bookkeeping, legal, financial, or CRA filing advice.
CSV exports and backups
CSV exports are intended for summaries, spreadsheets, accountant handoff, bookkeeping review, or tax preparation workflows.
Backup files are intended for keeping a copy of your TallySeal data outside the app or moving your user-entered data set to another device when supported.
Once you export or back up a file outside TallySeal, that file is under your control. You are responsible for storing, sharing, deleting, or protecting that file.
What backups may include
A backup may include expenses, categories, notes, receipt-related metadata, profile fields, business details, app settings, and other user-entered records.
A backup should not be treated as a copy of your app store purchase, payment account, purchase token, billing record, or permanent Pro entitlement.
What backups should not transfer
TallySeal backups are not intended to transfer Pro ownership, purchase tokens, payment records, billing accounts, or paid feature entitlement to another app store account.
On a new device, user-entered data and paid feature access may need to be restored separately: data through backup import, and paid access through the app store restore purchase process.
Paid feature status
TallySeal may store a local paid feature status so Pro features can remain available during offline use after a successful purchase or restore.
Purchase activation, purchase restoration, purchase verification, refunds, revocations, account changes, and app store checks may require internet access.
If purchase status changes through the app store, locally cached paid feature status may be updated, corrected, disabled, or refreshed.
Crash reporting and diagnostics
TallySeal may use Firebase Crashlytics or similar tools to collect crash reports and diagnostic information.
Diagnostic information may include crash logs, stack traces, device model, operating system version, app version, installation identifiers, and technical events needed to troubleshoot stability issues.
Crash reporting is intended to improve reliability. It is not intended to collect expense details, receipt images, exported files, T2125 data, or sensitive financial records.
Google Play purchase handling
If TallySeal uses Google Play for paid downloads or in-app purchases, Google Play handles payment processing.
TallySeal may store or check purchase entitlement status to unlock paid features, restore access, prevent fraud, or support paid plan behavior.
Purchase activation and restoration may require internet access. Cached entitlement status may allow paid features to continue working offline, subject to technical and app store limits.
Deletion
When you clear all data inside the app, local records and profile data are removed from the device, subject to technical limits and the behavior of the operating system.
Theme settings, purchase entitlement cache, crash diagnostic settings, or other basic app preferences may remain on the device if needed for app operation or user experience.
Clearing local app data does not delete exported files, backup files, screenshots, receipt copies, files shared with others, app store purchase records, crash logs already sent to service providers, or copies saved outside TallySeal.
Permissions
TallySeal should request only the permissions needed for records, receipts, exports, backups, diagnostics, or related app features.
If a permission becomes unnecessary, it should not be kept just in case.
Permission availability and behavior may depend on your device, operating system version, app release version, app store requirements, and installed services.
Receipts and supporting records
TallySeal may help organize receipt-related data and supporting details, but you remain responsible for keeping original records required for your business, tax, accounting, or legal obligations.
Offline-first limits
Offline-first does not automatically mean every record is backed up. If backup or sync features are available, review how they work before relying on them.
If your device is lost, damaged, reset, deleted, stolen, or replaced before backup/export, locally stored data may be lost.
Google Play Data Safety alignment
If TallySeal is distributed on Google Play, the app’s Data Safety answers should match the actual app behavior and this data handling page.
If features, diagnostics, purchases, storage, exports, permissions, or service providers change, the Data Safety answers and this page should be reviewed and updated.
