Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TallySeal handles information connected to the website, waitlist, support requests, product communications, app experience, diagnostics, purchases, exports, and data handling.

Effective date: June 2026

Who operates TallySeal

TallySeal by CK Catalyst is a product from CK Catalyst. Questions about this Privacy Policy can be sent to tallyseal.support@ckcatalyst.ca.

Scope of this policy

This policy applies to the TallySeal website, waitlist, support communications, product updates, app previews, app experience, diagnostics, purchase-related features, and related product operations.

TallySeal data handling, billing, storage, backup, export, sync, diagnostic, and paid feature details may be updated as the app changes.

Information we may collect

Contact information you choose to provide, such as your email address when joining the waitlist or contacting support.

Waitlist details, such as the platform you selected, product interest, signup source, and related request metadata.

Product feedback, support messages, survey responses, or other information you voluntarily send to us.

Basic website and technical information, such as browser type, device type, pages visited, referral source, approximate region, security logs, performance logs, and form submission metadata.

app information may include expense records, receipt-related data, categories, notes, review status, profile details, export preferences, app settings, and paid feature entitlement status.

If crash reporting is enabled, diagnostic data may include crash logs, stack traces, device model, operating system version, app version, installation identifiers, and technical events needed to understand app stability.

Information stored locally on your device

TallySeal is designed as an offline-first app. Expense records, profile details, settings, review status, receipt-related information, export-related data, and cached paid feature status are intended to be stored locally on your device by default.

Local-first storage means the app can continue working without constant internet access. It does not automatically mean your data is backed up or synced elsewhere.

Information you should not send through the website

Do not send CRA login information, tax account credentials, Social Insurance Numbers, full banking credentials, payment card numbers, confidential client records, or sensitive tax documents through the website contact or waitlist forms.

Support requests should include only the information needed to understand the issue.

How information is used

To manage the waitlist and send product updates, beta availability notices, launch details, and related communications.

To respond to questions, support requests, feedback, privacy requests, or product inquiries.

To improve website performance, product messaging, security, reliability, and user experience.

To plan, test, and improve TallySeal features before and after launch.

To provide app functionality, local recordkeeping workflows, exports, settings, and paid feature access.

To verify, restore, cache, or support paid feature entitlement status.

To diagnose crashes, errors, performance issues, compatibility problems, and app stability concerns.

To comply with legal, security, fraud prevention, app store, billing, and operational requirements.

Crash reporting and diagnostics

TallySeal may use Firebase Crashlytics or similar diagnostic tools to understand crashes, errors, and app stability issues.

Crash reports are intended for technical troubleshooting and should not be used to intentionally collect expense records, receipt images, T2125 exports, tax details, or other sensitive financial information.

Because crash logs can sometimes include unexpected technical context, users should avoid entering sensitive information into fields that are not intended for it.

Google Play and purchases

TallySeal may be offered as a free app with optional paid features, including a one-time Pro unlock, or another paid model before or after launch.

If purchases are made through Google Play, payment processing is handled by Google Play. TallySeal may receive purchase status, product identifiers, transaction status, entitlement status, purchase tokens, and related billing metadata needed to unlock, verify, restore, or support paid features.

TallySeal does not receive full payment card numbers from Google Play purchases.

Paid feature access may be tied to the app store account used for the purchase. Restoring paid access on another device may require the same compatible app store account, internet access, and successful purchase verification.

Purchase entitlement and backups

TallySeal may cache paid feature status locally so Pro features can continue working during offline use, subject to technical, billing, security, and app store limits.

Backup files are intended for user records and app data, not for transferring paid feature ownership.

TallySeal backups should not be treated as proof of purchase and should not be used to move Pro access to another app store account.

Email communications and unsubscribe

If you join the waitlist or request updates, we may send you TallySeal-related emails.

Marketing or product update emails will include a way to unsubscribe where required. Service or support messages may still be sent when needed to respond to your request.

Offline-first product direction

TallySeal is designed around an offline-first recordkeeping experience. The goal is to let users record, review, and export expenses without depending on constant connectivity.

Some features may still require internet access, such as waitlist submission, support communication, app updates, crash reporting, purchase activation, purchase restoration, optional backups, optional sync, or future online services.

Exports and T2125 preparation

TallySeal may help export available app data into CSV, backup files, summaries, or fillable T2125-style preparation files.

Exports may use user-provided profile details, business details, expense records, categories, review status, selected tax year, and other available app data.

Exported files are intended for review, checking, correction, completion, accountant handoff, or tax-preparation workflows. TallySeal does not guarantee that exports are complete, correct, accepted by the CRA, or suitable for filing without review.

Cookies and analytics

The website may use cookies or similar technologies for basic functionality, analytics, performance, security, and user experience improvements.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features may not work properly if certain cookies are disabled.

Service providers

We may use trusted service providers for hosting, analytics, email delivery, waitlist management, form handling, support workflows, diagnostics, app distribution, payment processing, security, and product operations.

Examples may include website hosting providers, Supabase for waitlist or form data, Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics, Google Play for app distribution and purchases, and email or support tools.

Service providers are expected to use information only for the services they provide to us and to apply reasonable safeguards.

Google Play Data Safety

If TallySeal is distributed through Google Play, its Google Play Data Safety disclosures should describe the app’s data collection, sharing, security, deletion, diagnostics, and purchase-related practices.

The privacy policy, app behavior, and Google Play Data Safety answers should remain consistent as the app changes.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Waitlist and support information may be retained while TallySeal is in development and for a reasonable period after launch to manage communication, support, and product improvement.

Crash, diagnostic, billing, and app store records may be retained according to the settings, policies, or retention periods of the relevant service provider.

Safeguards

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or disclosure.

No website, app, email system, device, service provider, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your choices and access requests

You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal from product update communications, subject to legal, security, billing, app store, and operational limits.

Local app data stored on your device may need to be deleted directly inside the app or through your device settings.

App store purchase records, transaction history, and payment records may need to be managed through the app store provider.

Requests can be sent to tallyseal.support@ckcatalyst.ca.

Children

TallySeal is not intended for children. The website and app are designed for independent workers, freelancers, contractors, sole proprietors, and small business owners.

International processing

Some service providers may process or store information outside your province or outside Canada. In those cases, information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as TallySeal develops, launches, adds paid plans, changes app features, changes service providers, or changes data handling practices.

The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
